Lancastria Building

Fibre Environmental Services Ltd contract formed part of a planned major refurbishment to the first floor of the Lancastria Building which contained approximately 1700m2 of sprayed asbestos to the concrete soffit of the building. The ground floor of the Lancastria Building housed the canteen facilities for the entire Lancastira Constabulary Headquarters which was to stay fully operational throughout the 12 week asbestos abatement project.
We installed a bespoke CCTV system which was run from a hard-drive unit which had a storage capability of 30 days, utilising 14 CCTV cameras to monitor the removal project from our site office. The whole of the 1st floor was utilised to create one enclosure to which all internal brick and partition walls, along with ceilings were deconstructed and removed as hazardous waste. The sprayed asbestos insulation was injected via 2no safe strip injection units prior to being removed by hand held tools.
The project was completed successfully on time and budget and has led to further projects being carried out on site.
