Tong High School

Bradford, West Yorkshire

Project Value: £255,000.00

Fibre Environmental Services Ltd were contracted by Educo to carry out the removal of all identified asbestos containing materials identified within the Type 3 Survey conducted at the school. This was a complex project due to the fact that the nature of the buildings and the amount of buildings on the school site were so vast. Specialist access scaffolding was erected around the perimeter of the building to allow the enclosures to be erected for the removal of the exterior asbestos insulating panels, approximately 220 units. There were also a number of underground service ducts which has asbestos thermal insulation debris throughout, which led to the main boiler house which was lagged with asbestos thermal insulation. The asbestos removal to the boiler house was carried out using 1 enclosure under fully controlled conditions., utilising safe strip injection units. The underground service ducts were split into several enclosures to facilitate good air flow whilst removal works took place.

This project was completed on time and on budget in relation to the project programme for phase demolition directly behind our completed buildings which was critical to Educo's Programme of works
